Are You in Compliance With the OSHA Standard?
OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 requires employers to safeguard all employees who face potential occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). This course complies with the requirement for training under this OSHA Standard and helps to reduce these risks by focusing on how to protect employees from blood and airborne pathogens and what to do if an exposure occurs. It includes information on hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, human immunodeficiency virus and tuberculosis. It also adds content on airborne pathogens and influenza as well as updated information on the Needle Stick Safety and Prevention Act, recordkeeping, and exposure control plans.
This course is ideal for first responders, dentists, and dental hygientists, lab workers, police, EMTs and paramedics, animal handlers and custodians - and anyone exposed to blood or OPIMs can benefit from this resource.
