Phoenix — The Arizona Chapter National Safety Council (ACNSC) received five National Safety Council (NSC) honors presented at the 2025 Safety Congress & Expo in Denver. The Safety Congress & Expo is organized by the NSC and brings together occupational safety and health professionals from a wide range of industries.

ACNSC earned a 2024 Instructor Development Award for “exceptional commitment to educational excellence” and four 2024 Driver Safety Training Awards for NSC Driver Safety Programs:

  1. Defensive Driving Course 4-Hour Classroom
  2. Defensive Driving Course 8/6-Hour Classroom
  3. Defensive Driving Course Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving Classroom
  4. Defensive Driving Course Alive at 25 Classroom

“These awards are more than just recognition of our training programs,” says Rick Murray, President and CEO of ACNSC. “They honor the great work of our team, show the value of getting honest feedback from customers, and recognize the close collaboration we have with our communities.”

About the Defensive Driver Course Awards
Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of death in the workplace. The National Safety Council launched the first defensive driver training in 1964 to prevent injuries and save lives. More than 80 million drivers worldwide have completed the course. The DDC Award honors organizations and instructors who set the standard in teaching road safety and improving driver behavior.

About ACNSC’s Defensive Driving Courses

ACNSC’s defensive driving courses deliver up-to-date content in person and online to teach drivers how to prevent collisions leading to serious injury or death. Recently, the organization expanded Alive at 25 – its four-hour, in-classroom driver safety program developed specifically for teens and young adults – to the Tolleson Union High School District in Arizona.
