Arizona Chapter National Safety Council Launches Workplace Heat Safety Webpage

Worker wiping brow

Phoenix — The Arizona Chapter National Safety Council (ACNSC) has launched a new Workplace Heat Safety webpage designed to help employers reduce the risk of heat stress for indoor and outdoor workers. The new online resource, acnsc.org/heat-safety, offers practical guidance, prevention strategies, and downloadable tools for safety professionals, HR leaders, and business owners.

“Every year, workers across the country suffer serious heat-related injuries — and in many cases, those outcomes are completely preventable,” says Rick Murray, President and CEO of ACNSC. “We created this page to be a one-stop shop for heat-related workplace resources, so safety professionals and business owners have what they need to take action quickly and confidently.”

What’s Included
The new workplace heat safety hub outlines the dangers of both indoor and outdoor heat exposure, explains the signs and symptoms of heat-related illnesses, and provides clear steps for prevention. Key sections include:

    • Employer best practices and training tools
    • Industry-specific risk factors
    • Acclimatization schedules for new and returning workers
    • PPE-related heat stress guidance
    • State-specific resources for Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico

Additional downloadable tools are available exclusively to ACNSC members, including printable safety talks, posters, and tip sheets.

“Heat safety isn’t just a summer issue anymore,” added Murray. “As temperatures rise earlier in the year and last longer into the fall, planning ahead is essential. Employers need to take heat stress seriously — indoors and out.”
