Description

Train an employee to deliver the 4-Hour Flagger Training Course at your Worksite.

As the leader in roadway safety training, NSC has developed life-saving temporary traffic control work zone training. Based on Federal Highway Administration  Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) guidelines and American National Standards Institute requirements, these courses provide hands-on activities that help individuals do their job safely. NSC offers training options for work zone flagger, technician and supervisor.

Thousands of miles of roadways are being built and updated every day. Flaggers play an essential role in all roadway construction projects by helping keep drivers, roadway users and construction crews safe. The NSC Work Zone Flagger program teaches roadway personnel how to provide safe passage of traffic through and around temporary traffic control work zones. This course is essential for workers required to conduct flagging operations as a part of their job. This course includes the Flagger Novice 4 hour course.

Participants will learn:

  • Key Flagging procedures
  • Critical do's and don'ts for flaggers
  • How to keep themselves and their crew safe
  • How to use course materials
  • Administrative responsibilities
  • Adult learning needs
  • Developing effective teaching skills

Certification for a Flagger Instructor is contingent upon completion of the Flagger Training Instructor Course, affiliation with an organization maintaining current status as an approved Flagger Training Center and successfully teaching two supervised probationary classes. An organization may become an approved Flagger Training Center by signing a Training Center Agreement.

Certification is valid for one year. Annual renewal fee of $65
